Watch Peter Hogenkamp from the NZZ (@phogenkamp) talking about a digital natives attempt to give "Online" the right kick in the ass @zurich_CM.

Great to see two bright minds, namely Peter and Floria Steglich joining forces to get things going with such an elegant old print lady like the NZZ. Can't wait to see the first results from the NZZ labs.

-Now, can I please have such a team for a German paper as well?

NEWS+ from Bonnier: "Walking the walk instead of talking the talk"

"Walking the walk instead of talking the talk."

Something as promising as the concept you just saw happens when smart tech-people like the folks from BERG and people that truly understand print like BONNIER team up!
Collaboration is key here. Only in teams can the outcome include the best of both worlds. If it is just the print house that wants to do "one of those apps", things usually end up looking maybe nice and fancy, but mostly unusable.
It is not just a matter of paying the "app developer". It is about conversation and learning from each other. In terms of that I'm rather optimistic about the "future of news"..

Other recent print-innovations I found notable:

1. NZZ Kombi Abo: Print on the Weekend, ePaper during the week. http://www.abo.nzz.ch/kombiabo

2. ZEIT Online iPad optimized: There is no need to appify everything. The browser can be just good enough.
