Recently noticed how often groups of peopleall stare at their various screens.
True story, sad thing. Especially in places like cafés and restaurnants that traditionally encourage conversation :-(

Yes there is innovation- even within Microsoft!
Fascinating to see how the boundaries of digital and analouge are slowly fading. Patterns that we use in real life, like turning pages and dragging stuff around contribute so much to the whole "experience". Using the concept of "pages" for texts for example removes the "entry boundaries" for so many people who are not Natives in the digital world.
(Check out Instapaper's new pagination mode by the way!)
Integrating and understanding these gestures and patterns will be more important for longterm success than more pixels, speed or whatever. I like that :)
Let's hope that the innovation-hostiliy of a Giant like Microsoft will not stop and destroy the potential of those ideas. The future is exciting :)
